Where are all my artists in South Florida? Are you ready to show your artistic side to the Wynwood community and the world?
The I AM WYNWOOD PROJECT is looking for you! For those of you not familiar with Wynwood…. it’s one of the United States most creative communities, located in the Miami area. Wynwood is home to more than a dozen art galleries, antiques shops, retail stores, fashion boutiques, electric bars, and is filled with art throughout the streets of the community.
The I AM WYNWOOD PROJECT is a project that was created last year October by Miami artist Barbara M De Varona. The project is an on going collection of projects showcasing the personalities and artistic contributions of people in the Wynwood Art Community.
With the help of several of others artists (such as Buddah Funk and Amy Arce) and of course social media (such as facebook, tumblr, instgram, twitter, and more), the project has expanded. Barbara and others working on the projects is seeking to engage the participation of the community itself.
Right now the project is holding a cool photo contest and accepting submissions for the themed #IAMWYNWOOD, of artists capturing their personalities in a picture of course. The contest is going on now until September 30th. You can enter two ways, which is via instagram or email your photos to capture@iamwynwood.net. Winners will be announced on October 12th.
